Hi, Cole.

Discolored, as in a color change to the actual grout? Or there's some surface contaminant that you can get off?

Can we ask what you've tried for cleaning so far? And are there any unusual hair or soap products being used in the shower?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply! I've tried Comet, Scrubbing bubbles, Vinegar, and a couple other household cleaners. I usually let them sit for a bit and then scrub.

I imagine it probably is surface contamination, but can't be sure. The grout is lighter around the drain, about a 2 ft diameter.

I'm the primary user and it's mostly Dial and Head & Shoulders

Have you tried a more specific product like one of the many 'heavy duty tile & grout cleaners''? They are higher in pH than many cleaners that will assist in breaking down things like soap scum. You can find them sold anywhere that sells tile. Typically, it comes in concentrated form that needs to be diluted. Follow the directions which almost always include flooding the surface to clean and allowing to dwell for 5-7 minutes, then agitate with a fine nylon bristle brush. Then wet vac the dirty mess off to prevent the dirt from being re-deposited elsewhere. Then rinse with water to neutralize the pH and vac that away.
